In Portugal we have a saying: the corno – demeaning nickname for those who have been cheated by their partners – is always the last one to know. Of course in practice plenty of people do know they are being cheated, or have lingering suspicions. Can it be the same applies to being a prostitute, in both the fanciful and the more pedestrian sense of the word?
